Idyllically set on the banks of Carsington Water, these two beautiful barn conversions are part of a small group enjoying a peaceful setting and fabulous views over the sparkling lake. There is no through traffic, and the cottages offer direct access to the circular 8 miles of lake path. Both cottages boast a patio overlooking the lake, and, for children, there is a small toddler play area. Carsington Water boasts an RYA recognised watersports centre, offering dinghy, windsurfer and canoe hire and tuition, and junior activity sessions for ages 8–16 in the summer holidays (advanced booking advisable). Boat fishing for brown trout, cycle hire and rowing boats can be enjoyed at the watersports centre at the visitor centre. Across the lake, the visitor centre provides a restaurant, shops, cycle hire and an adventure playground. Matlock Bath’s Heights of Abraham cable cars and Gulliver’s Kingdom, Crich Tramway Museum, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and the market town of Ashbourne are all within about 10 miles. Alton Towers is just 15 miles. Within 0.75 miles is a popular pub serving ‘real ale’ and a number of excellent dining pubs can be found within 5 miles. Shop 0.75 miles.
