The island’s principal town, Portree, 16 miles, boasts sports facilities (including cycle hire), good shopping and the Aros Centre with its cinema, exhibitions and restaurants. A visit to the south of the island, ‘the garden of Skye’, and the Clan Donald Centre with its lovely grounds and boat trips on magical Loch Coruisk, hidden in the Cuillins, is a must. Pub serving food and shop/P.O. in Carbost, 2.5 miles.
