Fabulous beaches for relaxing and surfing at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are all within easy reach as are the bustling resort of Bude, the spectacular coastal pathways around Hartland Point and the market town of Bideford from where visitors can take boat trips to the island of Lundy, England’s only marine nature reserve. To the north lies Exmoor National Park: a beautiful setting for the resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth, its wild landscapes and stunning coastline are a joy to explore on foot, on horseback or by wheeled transport. Great family attractions such as Big Sheep and Milky Way, RHS Rosemoor and Atlantic Village shopping outlet are nearby, whilst to the south lies the rugged grandeur of Dartmoor National Park, and the amazing Eden Project is about an hour’s drive. Hartland (4 miles) offers sea angling, riding and golf; coarse fishing is available at the lodge park (fishing permit provided); and the thriving village of Woolfardisworthy, locally known as Woolsery, has a shop/post office and pub serving food (2 miles).
