Creel Cottage, Anstruther
Set within a recently converted courtyard (formally a fish merchant’s yard) and a few moments’ stroll from the harbourside (pictured), with roof top views across the Firth of Forth and out to Bass Rock, this comfortable town house makes an ideal holiday base. Anstruther, the largest of the East Neuk fishing villages, is home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum as well as interesting shops, pubs and an award winning fish and chip shop (500 yards). Just 9 miles away lies the ‘home’ of golf, the ancient university town of St Andrews, and many other excellent courses are close by. Visitors can enjoy boat trips to the Isle of May, there are wonderful coastal footpaths and the beaches are glorious.
