Converted from a barn adjoining the owners’ home, it lies within easy reach of this lovely area’s myriad delights. Pony trekking in Hamsterley Forest, nostalgic trips on Weardale Railway (seasonal) and Kilhope Lead Mining Museum are all nearby whilst the Beamish open air Museum, Newcastle’s city pleasures and the glories of the Lake District are all under an hour’s drive. Hadrian’s Wall and the cathedral city of Durham are within 30 miles. Stanhope offers a selection of shops and a good visitors’ centre (4 miles) and there is a country pub 1.5 miles away.
