And for walkers, there is easy access from the village onto open moors and fells. For family days out, The Forbidden Corner with its underground labyrinth of tunnels, hidden doors and surprises is only 8 miles distant and the many delights of the Lightwater Valley theme park, which include Europe’s longest rollercoaster, a birds of prey centre and a creepy crawly cave, are just half an hour away.
