Treacle Den, West Hythe nr. Romney Marsh

Treacle Den and Treacle Cottage are two cosy little cottages ideal for couples looking for somewhere to get away from it all. Situated in the grounds of the owner’s home on a quiet lane in the countryside, both cottages are cleverly arranged for maximum privacy, ensuring a peaceful retreat. Within 100 yards of the cottages lies an excellent local pub that enjoys a superb reputation for its restaurant. Traditionally beamed, the pub takes its name, Botolph’s Bridge, from the local legends surrounding St Botolph, a 7th-century monk. There is an excellent selection of beaches to explore, all within 3 miles, and many beautiful walks including the Royal Military Canal which has recently seen improvements for walkers and cyclists. There are many local villages, gardens, museums, monuments and castles well worth a visit. The cottages sit conveniently within a few minutes’ drive of the motorway yet each enjoys a tranquil spot with countryside to the front and views of Lympne Castle across the fields to the rear. West Hythe is a tiny hamlet within 3 miles of Hythe, Dymchurch and Lympne. Set in a conservation area, with excellent local walks.
