Inverness, 13 miles, has city attractions, riverside theatre, boat trips on Loch Ness and Moray Firth with Culloden Battlefield worth visiting. Only 3 miles from Loch Ness with pub serving food, shop at Dromnadrochit, 7 miles, with Loch Ness Exhibition and the haunting beauty of Urquart Castle.
