The Tin Church , Balvicar, Seil Island
This unique holiday house was originally a tin-tabernacle, hence the name, and was tastefully renovated to replicate the initial corrugated tin exterior, as featured on the channel 5 programme ‘Build a New Life in the Country’. This art-deco style single-storey holiday cottage was formerly the vestry of the church and forms part of the owners’ home. There are beautiful countryside views and you are only a short stroll from the view point that looks out over the Atlantic and down to the conservation village of Ellenabeich, Seil Island. This village is only 1 mile from The Tin Church, and boasts a snug pub and fascinating local history of the slate mines in the area. Ideal location to visit one of the many islands - Oban, 16 miles, the gateway to the isles, has a great selection of shopping and restaurants. The adventurous can enjoy a sea safari or may spot the eagles above the cliffs. Shop 0.5 mile, pub 1 mile.
